I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT... TRUMP WON??

Things like that don't happen in real life.  Bad politicians win, good ones nearly always lose.  Honest players lose, cheaters win.  Isn't that the rule?   What happened here?   How did the good guy win?

I didn't vote for him.  I voted libertarian but after studying all about Trump I think he could be the best president our country has ever had.  I see no racist there. I see a business man who likes to win and that could be the impetus that makes him GREAT.  Someone said he is another elitist.  No way!  He does not play by rules you understand.  If 2500 people are signed up for the Boston Marathon there will be 2,499 losers and only one winner.  Trump is a dedicated winner.  Those are the Trump rules.

Trump trumps losers.  Get on the bandwagon with him.  He could be be the best thing that ever happened to America.  You don't want to miss out.  Climb aboard.

I agree of course. watch him like a hawk. those who seek power usually want it to increase wealth or safety for themselves. But some just want to be the best that can be, I think Trump MAY be one of these.

He could be & he could be the worst, I don’t get on anyone’s bandwagon. Trust is something for true friends & some family, not politicians, bankers, realtors, used car salesmen…. They need to give me proof & prove themselves each & every time. I’m not too keen on trusting the butcher, so I watch him at the scale. I hope Trump does something great, I hope he earns himself a statue or two, I hope we have such economic prosperity the prime rate goes back above 1%. We shall see.

As I was saying to Noahbody, watch him. I’m not advocating blind trust. Just don’t throw stumbling blocks in front of him until we see what he is all about.

That’s just being a good Christian, be not a stumbling block.

I knew you would disagree. but there is a place for you to be the “loyal opposition.” Watch, do not heap road blocks in front of him until we see what it is he means to do. Like Lincoln, he could be the best or the worst president ever, depending on your point of view. Lincoln destroyed the constitution in order to save it. Was that good or bad? He did not free the slaves but he might have if he had lived long enough. We can only guess. ~ It is the same way with Trump. the best or the worst. We’ll know soon enough to stop him if he turns out bad.

The man literally scares me . . . all I can do is pray that he won’t kill all of us. ~ sigh PEACE

I think you should question why he scares you, is it stuff he’s actually done or really said or is it the way someone related what he’s done & said, is it his lack of experience? Is it that you buy into the argument that he’s stupid? Examine your fears & see if they’re founded in reality or the aggressive posture of the media.
          .
Were you scared Obama would kill us all? He came very close when he launched a drone into Pakistan to kill Usama bin Laden, but the media didn’t freak out over it. Pakistan is very shaky as a Republic & faces political incursions by the Taliban, when we killed Usama we nearly handed the Taliban a nuclear arsenal complete with ICBMs to take them wherever they want. If we look at their public positions on recent history, Hillary was far more of a Hawk than Trump, who never supported the war in Iraq & actively opposed Bush… who ran in 2000 just to oppose Bush.
          .
I’m not attacking you, I am asking Socratic questions to encourage you to examine why you feel this way about someone you probably don’t know beyond what the media makes of him.

I agree with that. At first both candidates scared me. my vote for Gary Johnson was a protest statement only.

How can you think he may be the best president ever when you voted for Gary?

    December 23, 2016
    1. TomasSISI

Gary was a protest on my part. I thought the NEXT election might have a libertarian with a better chance of winning. But since the election I have tried to analyze what makes Trump tick. He has the seed of greatness in him. whether it develops is another matter. He is driven by none of the usual motives but by something about historic significance.

It’s possible, he has the potential, the issue is that he’s a giant & kind of ugly question mark, when you try to figure his intentions through his past actions.
I think it really depends on what he wants his legacy to be. If he puts family 1st, we may well be screwed. If he puts his personal legacy 1st, he has serious potential. If he does the job right & puts US/We the People 1st he may well go down as the best in recent history. Best is a high hurdle, with the Founders in the running, Lincoln, Teddy & FDR, IKE & Reagan, but he could certainly find himself in the top 10 were he to take his duty as our steward seriously & act sincerely in our interest.
      .
I too voted for Gary, simply because I have a hard time believing someone who mixed that close with the Clintons & actively bought favor from them was a less desirable person than Gary when it comes time to vote. I hope Trump earns my vote for 2020, I & Tomas would be real assholes if we didn’t put our best intentions behind whomever won, that’s how our system is supposed to work, fight it out good & hard then come together for the sake of the nation & domestic tranquility. It’s the responsibility of a person who wants to call themselves a good citizen to let him do his job & hold him accountable for what he does not what some talking head fears he may do.

        December 23, 2016
        1. Munkyman

There’s a little bad in anyone willing to do what it takes to get things done. It’s a question of indulging that little bad guy or putting him on the line. I won’t say Trump’s a bad guy, politically he’s a giant “?” & that’s just the way it is.

He’s a war monger, and that’s clear by the recent commentary pertaining to investing in more nuclear weapons. I mean, seriously, there’s no need to go down that pathway.
    .
He’ll trigger WW3 IF he doesn’t learn how to be a diplomat, by default. Every time he opens his uncouth mouth, I cringe.
    .
Hmm. His policies, or lack thereof… will speak for the kinda man he is, deep down.
